Youth and Family Services (Roseland/Pullman)
Comprehensive Community Based Youth Services (CCBYS) serves youth ages 11 through 17 who are at risk of involvement in the child welfare and/or juvenile justice system. The goal of the program is reunification of the child with his or her family. We work to preserve the family unit and provide parents and children with the skills to communicate more effectively and strengthen familial bonds. The CCBYS team is comprised of trained mental health professionals including bachelor-level crisis workers/case managers and graduate-level social workers.
We work with youth who fall into the following categories:
Runaways: Leaving home and not returning for extended periods of time
Ungovernable: Refusing to obey parental rules
Truancy: Missing school without parental consent
School Problems: Failing grades or disruptive behavior in class
Family Problems: Verbal and/or physical altercations within the home
- Station Adjustments: Police warnings for delinquent acts without placing youth in the juvenile court system
Youth and their parents are provided with a continuum of services that may include:
Mental health assessments, individual and family counseling
Enhancement of parenting skills
Behavior modification and anger management skills
Assistance applying for public benefits
Coordination with juvenile court personnel
Advocacy on behalf of youth with schools and social service organizations
Referrals for medical care, substance abuse counseling, vocational counseling/training, tutoring, after-school programs and youth groups
