Matching Gifts

Facility maintenance and general operating expenses aren’t sexy items as fundraising causes go, but when you’re trying to run programs in nine locations to serve more than 5,000 kids and parents through a Chicago winter, a working boiler can be a thing of beauty, and running water and lights that turn on when you need them can be cause enough for celebration.

We want to give a special thanks to our partners who directly support the costs of delivering services to thousands of people day in and day out—for 53 years and counting. We don’t have photos to show you of beautiful facades with their names on them, but their contributions are reflected in the smiling faces of kids who feel great when a tutoring session helps them break the code on a math problem or they learn that their youth worker believes in their dream of going to college and becoming an engineer.

Gifts to the Annual Fund make it possible for front-line staff to show up every day and teach CYC’s kids that they’re not defined—and must not allow themselves to be limited—by their inner-city zip codes and underperforming school districts.
